Machinist Apprenticeship Program

The Machinist Apprenticeship Program (MAP) at Los Alamos National Laboratory is registered with the New Mexico State Apprenticeship Council and sanctioned by the US Department of Labor's Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.

This intensive prototype machinist apprenticeship training is provided in collaboration with Northern New Mexico College (NNMC), located in nearby Espanola, New Mexico.

Students at all levels of the program are encouraged to take advantage of NNMC's campus and curriculum to augment their apprentice training. Sixty percent of the MAP students go on to an associates or advanced degree.
