2014 EFCOG/DOE Electrical Safety Workshop
July 14 - 18, 2014
Hosted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the 2014 EFCOG/DOE Electrical Safety Workshop will be held July 14 - 18, 2014 at the NREL site in Golden, Colorado.
The 2014 Workshop begins with a half day tutorial on Monday featuring James Stallcup, Sr., who will focus on the 2014 National Electrical Code. Tuesday is a full day of invited technical presentations with a focus on implementation of national requirements into DOE sites.
Wednesday and Thursday are intense working group sessions, where the Workshop attendees break into focus groups to tackle the study, analysis, and solution of electrical safety problems of concern across the complex. The goal of these working groups is to improve electrical safety across the complex with the development of best practices, tools, proposed code changes, and more. Past workshops led to accepted revisions to 10CFR851, 4 proposals accepted and implemented into NFPA 70 E, many best practices, papers and tutorials presented at the annual IEEE Electrical Safety Workshop, the creation of a new ISA Standards Committee, and much more.
