At the beginning of FY00 an implementation plan was instituted for the Laboratory’s archiving project. Below is a summary of the progress for the P-22 portion of the project. All goals were either met or exceeded.

Progress for first Half of FY00

FY00, Quarter 1:

1.      Complete reaction history code (ALFA) and release it for production analysis tasks.

(Code is in production and frozen against changes until 4th quarter review)

2.      Reanalyze the reaction history for 5 NTS events

(4 events were re-analyzed and stored on XWARP)

3.      Complete the EMP procedure handbook

(EMP procedure book is complete and available on XWARP)

4.      Begin collection of data and technical information for a comprehensive W-76 reaction history report

(Still in data gathering stage—specific work done for X-4 and X-2)

5.      Satisfy the security requirements to allow necessary communication with X-Division

(Entire P-22 analysis team is communicating with XWARP)

6.      Complete the architecture of the P-22 classified server and LAN

(LAN is complete and operational)

FY00, Quarter 2:

7.      Reanalyze the reaction history from 5 NTS events.

(10 events were re-analyzed and stored on XWARP)

8.      Complete Floydada and Whiteface EMP reports.

(Reports are complete and are on XWARP under EMP folder)

9.      Start discussion with members from TSA-1, DX-3 and X-4 regarding requirements for the statistical study of the alpha function.

(Good progress in this area. Statistical methods are being chosen and applied)

10.  Prepare a job ad to initiate a search for replacement personnel.

(1/2 FTE has been added to Bechtel effort. Training of two P-22 TSMs will begin in 3rd Quarter)

11.  Start dedicated effort to replace editing code, TEKEDT, from the VAX to the PC

(Some progress has been made on Magplot, the TEKEDT replacement. However a reevaluation of software needs has now placed the convolution code conversion at a higher priority. Earnest work on CONFOLD (convolution code) will begin in the 3rd Quarter
