Morale help

Recently I've attended several group/division/upper managment meetings where the question, "What can be done to help morale?" has come up several times.

Of course the contract/pension issue is paramount but many people are disscussing this issue so I won't add to that here.

Three simple things I have thought of to help morale:

1) Have a family day.

This is expensive and somewhat disruptive but a great way to improve morale and get people exited.

2) Stop giving parking tickets for now.

The battle over parking has long since been lost. Just drive around TA-3 and its obvious that tickets can do nothing to stop people from parking inappropriately. Its worth 20$ a week to make it to an important meeting on time, but it does hurt morale. Until parking is better, put a hold on tickets.

3) Fix the clearance process.

I have several collegues who have been waiting well over two years for a clearance. This is exteremly detrimental to productivity, security, careers, morale, the list goes on. I don't know what can be done here but this is an emergency situation at this point.

These three things aren't much, but I think they will help.
