Laboratory radio announcement system

I was trying to drive to work on this snowy morning and became frustrated by the lack of road condition and accident reporting information available. A truck accident was blocking the truck route and the traffic was backed up for hours. KRSN has very limited resources for accident reporting. The Lab recently has posted electronic message signs on the highways around and leading to the Laboratory. While the signs are somewhat helpful, it would be more useful to have a low power AM radio station that broadcasts Lab road closures, security and emergency information. The current sign system doesn't always work and many times is not very helpful as it can't convey much information. I believe the FCC has a program that allows for low power station licenses to be granted for just this purpose. Maybe the Computing, Communications and Networking (CCN) and Information Management (IM) divisions should look into this option?
