Crossing Diamond DriveSafety and security at the Laboratory is number one. I wish the people who insist on walking or running across Diamond Drive, between Eniwetok and Cordova roads, cared about their own safety. For the past month, during the 5 p.m. rush hour, I have seen at least 10 people a day dodging vehicles while trying to cross Diamond Drive. On more than one occasion I have seen the same man waiting between the lanes of oncoming traffic waiting for a space large enough to run.
Recently I have seen PTLA vehicles yeilding to let people cross; that may slow down the traffic going one way but not the other.
I understand people are trying to get to their vehicles, but please go a little further and use the underpass or crosswalk for you own safety. What is a few extra minutes walking compared to being hit by a vehicle and not walking again.
