Friday, April 1, 2005 Diversity Cinema screening Monday in Physics AuditoriumPart of Lab's American Indian Heritage Month at LabThe formal working relationship between the Laboratory and nearby San Ildefonso, Jemez and Santa Clara pueblos is the focus of a "Diversity Cinema" screening Monday in the Physics Building Auditorium at Technical Area 3. The screening is at 11:30 a.m., and is open to the Laboratory work force. The screening is free and the Diversity Office (DVO) is providing soda and popcorn. The screening is one of a number of scheduled events DVO and the American Indian Diversity Working Group are hosting in April to observe Native American Heritage Month at the Lab, said Berylene Rogers of DVO. The screening Monday consists of three 20-minute films produced by the pueblos: "As We See It Now: The Voice of Santa Clara Pueblo"; "Closing the Circle: San Ildefonso Pueblo"; and " Living In The Shadow: Jemez Pueblo." Diversity Cinema provides an occasional lunchtime opportunity to learn about heroes and historical figures from all cultures and backgrounds, as well as other diversity-related topics. This diversity education and awareness effort supports the Laboratory's Strategic Goal H, Agile Work force. --Steve Sandoval Other Headlines Expanded horizons equals expanded opportunities for young women more...
