Friday, March 25, 2005 Memorial supports UC continuing as Lab operatorA joint memorial passed by the State Legislature urges the Department of Energy to keep the University of California as the operator of the Laboratory. House Joint Memorial 10 notes the 62-year history of UC operating the Laboratory and says that the university and Los Alamos have made significant contributions to national security, global threat reduction and advancements in science and technology. The memorial was introduced by State Rep. Jeannette Wallace, R-Los Alamos, Sandoval. UC's contract to operate Los Alamos expires Sept. 30.
