Friday, March 25, 2005 Cap on vacation leave temporarily liftedThe Laboratory is temporarily lifting the maximum amount of vacation leave a University of California Lab employee can accrue. Laboratory Administrative Policy AM312.04-05 details maximum amounts of vacation leave a person can accrue depending on their years of service (Adobe Acrobat Reader required). Director Pete Nanos said recent events at the Lab have created situations where UC employees couldn't take vacation leave. "As a result, some individuals ended up in a 'use or lose' situation in regards to their vacation accruals. This is not the situation Laboratory management wants for our employees," Nanos said in a all-employee memo. The Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration approved the temporary suspension - through the end of the fiscal year, Sept. 30 - of the maximum level of accrued vacation leave.
