Friday, March 4, 2005 Deadline today for comments on changes to draft request for proposalsNNSA/DOE amendments on Lab operating contract Today is the deadline to submit comments on amendments to the Department of Energy's draft request for proposal for the Laboratory operating contract. The DOE/National Nuclear Security Administration recently released "white papers" on several issues related to the draft request for proposals. The white papers deal with health and welfare benefits for retired University of California Lab employees and pension benefits for current and retired employees among other things. The University of California's contract to operate the Laboratory expires Sept. 30. The university has operated the Laboratory since its Manhattan Project inception in 1943. To read the white papers, go to http://www.doeal.gov/LANLContractRecompete/DraftRFP.htm online. Comments on the white papers can be submitted to the NNSA Source Evaluation Board contracting officer at LANLRecompeteHelp@doeal.gov by electronic mail. Other Headlines UC Regent visits Lab more...
