Friday, February 4, 2005 UC, California State system work to improve access to online legal entertainment servicesThe University of California and the California State University system jointly are accepting proposals from vendors offering music and movie services online. Working together, UC and the California State University system can leverage their size to provide multiple competitive choices for campuses electing to offer online entertainment services to faculty, staff and students. "At the University of California, we are in a unique position to recognize the importance of the entertainment industry to the economies of the state, the nation and the world," UC President Robert Dynes said in a news release. "And as creators of intellectual property ourselves, we are strongly committed to respecting copyright and raising awareness among are own community about appropriate methods for accessing online entertainment."
