Applications being accepted for UC's Cosmos program

High schools students can learn about astronomy, marine biology, robotics and other subjects through the University of California's COSMOS summer program.

The California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science, or COSMOS program, is for students in grades eight through 12 and allows students to conduct laboratory experiments, field work and attend lectures by UC faculty and master high school teachers, according to a UC news release.

COSMOS programs are offered at the UC, Davis, UC, Irvine, UC, Santa Cruz and UC, San Diego campuses.

The deadline for students to apply for the program is March 15. Application and financial aid forms are available at http://www.ucop.edu/cosmos online.
