New issue of Actinide Research Quarterly now onlineThe latest issue of "Actinide Research Quarterly" has been published and can be read at www.lanl.gov/arq online. "Actinide Oxides II" begins with a primer on the design of a can for all seasons: the Department of Energy 3013 long-term storage container. Other articles in this issue include discussions of gas generation by pure and impure oxides, engineering applications of the storage container, with an emphasis on the thermal properties of stored plutonium dioxide, the affect water has on actinide oxides, and the electronic structure of surface oxides and the application of density functional theory. Actinide Research Quarterly highlights recent achievements and ongoing programs of the Nuclear Materials Technology (NMT) Division.
