2005 Employee Resources brochure now out

The Ombuds Program Office has updated a useful publication to help members of the work force find the right services for concerns they may have.

The brochure is called "Employee Resources: Laboratory Services Driven by the Lab's Core Values" and emphasizes the many resources available to Laboratory employees, while also reminding employees of how the Lab's core values play a role in the workplace everyday.

"The brochure provides a quick summary of the services that each of the offices provide employees along with an extended list of phone numbers for specific needs. While each of the offices has a unique offering, the offices work in a collaborative manner to assist employees," said DeeDee McInroy, acting Ombuds Program director. "It has everything from the goal of the Ombuds Program to a handy detachable calendar displaying employee paydays and holidays with a summary of the contact information on the back."

To distinguish it from previous versions, the new brochure's color is contrasted by dark blue and orange. The brochure's main feature is a complied list and contact information of employee services and a description of each service. The services covered are those available from the Ombuds Program, Complaint Resolution Services, the Employee Assistance Program (HSR-2), Staff Relations (HR-SR), the Diversity (DVO) Office, the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) and Occupational Medicine (HSR-2). The new brochure also lists contact information and a description of the University of California, and concludes with a message from Laboratory Director G. Peter Nanos.

Along with the other contact information, the Employee Resources brochure also lists information on who to contact in case of a bomb threat or sexual harassment, and gives contact information for benefits, retirement, disability and services for deaf employees.

All employees should have received a copy of the brochure at their Laboratory mail stops. It also will be available at the various offices noted in the brochure. Employees who haven't received the brochure by the end of January should call the Ombuds Program Office at 5-2837.

For more information about the brochure and the services described in it, go to the Ombuds Web site at http://www.lanl.gov/ombuds/ online.
