Nanos describes actions to support scienceLaboratory Director G. Peter Nanos this week talked about some of the steps Los Alamos is taking to further its commitment to science. They include financial support for new projects and new construction. In a all-employee memo, Nanos said a working group is being formed to explore how technical and administrative staff can work together to increase efficiencies in support of scientific work. He also said steps are being formulated and implemented to improve the effectiveness and strategic alignment of the Laboratory Directed Research and Development process. "These are modest steps; what is more important is that they are actions that reflect the Laboratory's ongoing determination to improve the environment for scientific work at Los Alamos," said Nanos.
