KSL donates laptops to Española Military Academy

Ed Burckle, left, general manager for the Laboratory's major subcontract company, KSL Services, visits with Española Military Academy Commander Mike Mendoza. Burckle was at the Academy recently to donate 20 excess Compaq laptop computers and their cases. Opened in September 2004, the Academy serves 164 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students from throughout the Española valley and surrounding communities. The Academy is located in the Española National Guard armory, which also served as the firefighter encampment and command center during the Cerro Grande fire in 2000.

Veronica Rodriguez, center, of Sen. Pete Domenici's office, looks on as Burckle shows off one of 20 Compaq laptops that were donated to the Española Military Academy. Standing behind Rodriguez is Española Mayor Richard Lucero. Accompanying Burckle, were KSL employees, Gerard Kendall, far left, and Ken Hudson, far right behind Burckle.
