Lab cell phone users should update roaming software

Laboratory employees who use digital cellular telephones should update the software that determines their preferred roaming list as a potential cost-saving measure.

To update the software, users should dial Star (*) - 228, then press SEND and select Option 2 at the prompt. This should be done while in the Los Alamos area at least every other month to ensure that the latest roaming software from Verizon is downloaded into the cellular phone.

This action will help ensure that users do not receive costly roaming charges.

For more information, call Telecommunication (CCN-4) at 7-5533 or write to wireless@lanl.gov by electronic mail.
