Radiochemical analysis of nuclear tests focus of talk at Lab Wednesday

Don Barr, right, of Isotope and Nuclear Chemistry (C-INC) recounts an anecdote from his 47 years of research at Los Alamos on the uses of radiochemistry as a nuclear weapons diagnostic to Rod Wood-Schultz of Primary Design and Assessment (X-4). Barr spoke to hundreds of employees Wednesday in the Administration Building Auditorium at Technical Area 3 about how radiochemical analysis of nuclear tests has improved in precision over the years, and described the many innovative contributions to the nuclear testing program made by radiochemists working at Technical Area 48. Barr's talk was the fifth in the Director's Classified Colloquium series. Photo by James E. Rickman, Public Affairs
