Tuesday, November 16, 2004 Utility work to close parking lot off Diamond Drive today and WednesdayInstallation of a 40-ton electric generator at the Laboratory's power plant off Diamond Drive will close a nearby employee parking lot today and Wednesday. The parking lot north of the power plant will be closed today and Wednesday, said Jerome Gonzales of the Laboratory's Utilities group, formerly Utilities and Infrastructure (FWO-UI). The parking lot needs to be closed to accompany a crane that will be used to lift the generator into place from above the power plant, Gonzales explained. Laboratory workers who park in this parking lot should seek alternate parking locations, such as the parking garage west of the Nonproliferation and International Security Center at Technical Area 3, or surface parking lots available near the Materials Science Laboratory Auditorium or other lots off Diamond Drive.
