Energy Secretary resignsAbraham thanks Bush for privilege to serve nation In a letter to President George W. Bush dated Nov. 14, Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham resigned his position pending the confirmation of a new Energy Secretary. Abraham also touted the Department of Energy's significant success toward reducing America's dependence on foreign sources of energy, improving the environment and further securing the homeland through efforts to reduce nuclear proliferation.
