Contest challenges students' math skills

Santa Fe High School sophomore Luann Huang works one of the math problems at the Laboratory's sixth annual Go Figure Mathematical Challenge last weekend in Santa Fe, Española and Los Alamos. Math problems for the contest ranged from easy to challenging, but most required only basic arithmetic. Some problems are designed to test the contestants' ingenuity and ability to apply what they have learned. About 50 middle school and high school students participated in the challenge.
