Wednesday, October 20, 2004 COMPASS answers questions about new classified media librariesThe COMPASS Web page has a list of frequently asked questions about the new classified media libraries at the Laboratory. The libraries were created to improve how the Lab handles accountable classified removable electronic media. The FAQ page answers questions, such as what is a classified library custodian and how this position differs from a classified matter custodian. Other questions about the new classified media libraries deal with training requirements, usage and contact information for employees who have additional questions. The Laboratory has identified a need for 19 classified media libraries. Classified media libraries will support multiple divisions, but some divisions will have multiple classified media libraries. Library locations will be announced within each organization when the locations are finalized. The libraries must be located within a vault or vault-type room.
