New issue of Laboratory Connection now online

The September-October issue of the Laboratory Connection is now online (Adobe Acrobat Reader required).

Laboratory Connection is distributed to community leaders in Northern New Mexico. The Laboratory Connection -- published by the Community Relations (CRO) Office and Information Management (IM) Division with editorial support from Public Affairs -- is designed to enhance community understanding of Lab programs, community activities and initiatives, business and educational opportunities.

In this issue, readers are introduced to the new Community Relations (CRO) Office Leader Lillian Montoya-Rael, who outlines her plans for CRO in a Page 1 column. The cover story follows a group of Jemez Pueblo students who this summer learned about global warming and the carbon cycle through a new educational program on the Valles Caldera.

The issue also contains a story about Technology Transfer (TT) Division's assistance to the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad, a business profile on Technical Design Inc., and a photo from Spirit Day in Española, where the Laboratory and University of California sponsored an information booth to answer questions and distribute information about the Lab and the university.

This issue includes updated Calendar of Events and the Contract Corner listings, the latter which contains news of contracts awarded or put out for bid by the Laboratory and the Ask the Lab Small Business Advocates column.
