As part of the Laboratory's conversion to new Enterprise Project software, current systems used to create purchase requests and purchase orders won't be accessible until 6 a.m., Tuesday (Oct. 5). The Enterprise Project plans to unveil "Release One," a new Oracle software, on Friday. Release One allows users to perform accounts payable and cash-management tasks using the Oracle software. The new software system replaces PAID (the Lab's system for paying bills). Most Lab bills are invoices for purchase transactions. In order to begin using Oracle as the Laboratory's financial system of record, no new purchasing transactions can be entered in PDWeb and PD until the conversion of purchasing data to Oracle is complete. Since PDWeb and PD won't be available until Tuesday this means
Beginning Tuesday, fiscal year 2005 transactions can be entered using PDWeb and PD.
