Wednesday, August 4, 2004 Work force reminded about reporting improper activityLaboratory and University of California policies in place provide workers with ways to report suspected improper activities. A all-employee memo from Richard Marquez, associate director for administration (ADA), explains the policy and also reminds Lab workers of their obligation to report any allegations of suspected improper governmental activity, including waste, fraud and abuse. The memo provides names, telephone numbers and organizational names at the Lab, UC and the Department of Energy, for reporting such activity. Marquez also reminded Lab workers that under the UC Whistleblower Protection Policy, there will be no retaliation against anyone who reports waste, fraud, abuse, theft, or any other improper activity or threat to the health and safety of others.
