Tuesday, August 3, 2004 Truck traffic to increase in area of Otowi BuildingConstruction continues on parking structure, NSSB Starting Wednesday, flag persons will be on the south side of West Jemez Road to assist trucks delivering pre-cast panels for the new parking structure now under construction at Technical Area 3. The new 675-space parking structure is scheduled to open in April 2005, weather permitting, and is part of construction of the Laboratory's new National Security Sciences Building, also under construction at TA-3. Laboratory personnel who work in the immediate vicinity, and others who have business in the main TA-3 area should be aware of increased large truck traffic for the next 12 weeks. About six deliveries a day are expected during this time period, said Keith Orr of the Project Management (PM) Division, project director for the National Security Sciences Building. Deliveries will be made during "off-peak" traffic hours to minimize traffic disruption to the employee population, Orr added.
