Resumption of operations update now online

Some Laboratory services, facilities remain closed

The Laboratory has placed online a document describing the process for resuming normal operations for risk-one level organizations. The Laboratory last Friday suspended all normal operating activities until all members of the work force can ensure that the Laboratory operates safely and meets its national security obligations.

The resumption process document details the actions workers and organizations must complete to successfully demonstrate that it can resume normal operations. The plan also defines risks levels and the two-phase approach Los Alamos is taking.

The resumption process document for risk-one level organizations can be found at http://int.lanl.gov/source/features/risk1.shtml online.

Because the Laboratory has suspended normal work operations, some facilities remain closed.

The Bradbury Science Museum downtown is closed.

The ARAMARK Corp. cafeterias in the Otowi Building at Technical Area 3, and the TA-53 and TA-55 cafeterias are closed. ARAMARK's Lunch Wagon meal trucks also are not operating.

The Wellness Center, part of Occupational Medicine (HSR-2), at TA-3 is closed and all scheduled classes at the center have been cancelled. More information about the Wellness Center is available at www.wellness.lanl.gov online.

The J. Robert Oppenheimer Research Library (STB-RL) at TA-3 is closed until further notice.

KSL Services' taxi service is available to transport Laboratory workers to meetings related to safety and security as part of the suspension of operations. However, some delays in service may be expected. KSL Services will transport Laboratory workers who use the New Mexico Department of Transportation's park-and-ride commuter-bus service to outlying technical areas. The taxi service can be contacted at 7-TAXI, or 7-8294.
