Nominations due Monday for student, mentor awards

Nominations are being accepted through Monday for 2004 student and mentor awards by the Science and Technology Base (STB) Programs Office.

The awards are for outstanding performance by students and mentors in any and all job series and will given in "technical" and "administrative" categories. All supervisors, peers and employees can nominate student and mentor candidates deserving of an award, said Carole Rutten of the Education Programs Office (STB-EPO).

The individual awards will be presented during the awards banquet that follows the 2004 Student Symposium at the Best Western Hilltop House in Los Alamos Aug. 3 and 4. Details on this year's Student Symposium are at http://stb.lanl.gov:8080/wosaserver/web?pg=/education/internships/symposium/index.xml online.

Nominations should be sent to Severo Martinez of STB-EPO at Mail Stop M709. The nomination period should cover work done between Aug. 1, 2003 and the present, according to a all-employee memo.

For information on how to submit a nomination, including criteria and required contents for nomination packets, see the all-employee memo from Don Rej, acting Science and Technology Base Programs Office (STB) leader. (Adobe Acrobat Reader required)

For more information about the students and mentors program, contact Rutten at 5-5194 or write to crutten@lanl.gov by electronic mail.
