Annual student-mentor picnic draws large turnout

Fun and food at Urban Park

Debbie Bryan of Environmental Applications (RRES-EA) prepares to swing for the fences in a game of whiffle ball at the Student/Mentor picnic Thursday at Urban Park. The picnic was hosted by the Students Association. Students and mentors from all across the Laboratory were invited to partake in the event as a chance to unwind, have fun and bond with one another.

Left to right, Julia Sheppard of Statistical Sciences (D-1), Daniel Sheppard of Diagnostic Methods (X-5), Kelcey Tietjen of PIT Disposition Science and Technology (NMT-15), Robert Harrison of Hazardous Materials Response (S-10), Kirill Igumenshchev of the Center of Nonlinear Studies (T-CNLS) and other Lab employees participate in a rambunctious game of rugby at the Student/Mentor picnic Thursday. More than 100 Laboratory students and mentors attended the picnic at Urban Park. The picnic gave students and mentors an opportunity to relax, take a break from work and eat hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and sodas. Photos by Brenna Moore, Public Affairs
