Wednesday, June 23, 2004 R&D 100 recognition ceremony slated for ThursdayThe annual R&D 100 recognition ceremony will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the Bradbury Science Museum downtown. The Director-hosted event will recognize this year's 14 submitting teams to the 2004 R&D Magazine's R&D 100 awards competition. The museum will display posters representing the 14 entries and Laboratory Director G. Peter Nanos will recognize the submitting teams with certificates. R&D Magazine will announce winners of this year's competition on July 1. Believing that all Los Alamos entries are technologically sound, commercially viable and worthy of winning, the recognition ceremony is designed to honor all submitting teams before the magazine's winners are announced. Since Los Alamos began submitting technologies in the competition in 1978, it has received 89 R&D 100 awards. The Bradbury Science Museum is located at 15th Street and Central Avenue in downtown Los Alamos. Museum hours apart from special events are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday through Monday.
