Thursday, June 17, 2004 Meyer considers state of the Strategic Research DirectorateDirector's Colloquium Monday The state of the Strategic Research Directorate will be discussed by Tom Meyer, associate director for strategic research (ADSR), in a Director's Colloquium at 1:10 p.m., Monday (June 21) in the Physics Building Auditorium at Technical Area 3. According to Meyer, through these recent times of public scrutiny and concern about how Los Alamos conducts its business, a constant at the Laboratory has been its outstanding science and engineering. The role of the Strategic Research Directorate has been, and continues to be, to support and lead science and technology at the Laboratory through its technical divisions and their support of scientific programs; through its roles in promoting science and science administration; through student and university programs in the Science and Technology Base (STB) Program Office; and through the intellectual property and industry partnership activities of the Technology Transfer (TT) Division, including user facilities and research centers. The colloquium is unclassified and open to all Laboratory workers. It also can be viewed live on Labnet Channel 9 and on desktop computers using Real Media Live Media Stream and IPTV technology. For more information about the Director's Colloquium program, which is coordinated by STB, go to http://stb.lanl.gov/colloquium/ online.
