Laboratory is open on Friday

The Laboratory will be open on Friday under normal operating hours.

Friday has been declared a national day of mourning by the president, and many federal government agencies are closed following the death of former President Ronald Reagan. The nation's 40th president died last Saturday at his home in California.

The executive order excludes those government agencies, such as "Department of State, the Department of Defense, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, or other departments, independent establishments, and governmental agencies that the heads thereof determine should remain open for reasons of national security or defense or other essential public business."
