Tree thinning work continues in Rendija Canyon area

Infrastructure Projects (FWO-IP) is continuing tree thinning related activities in Rendija Canyon through the end of July. The work will increase heavy truck traffic on San Ildefonso Road from the Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club area west through Rendija and Guaje canyons to NM 502.

For safety considerations, motorists are asked avoid the area as much as possible, use caution and reduce speed when driving through this area.

Trucks also will be turning onto NM 502 (north side) at Guaje Canyon, near mile marker 9 and just west of the Totavi gas station, at mile marker 8 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., through June 24.

For more information, contact Shannon Smith of the Risk Reduction and Environmental Stewardship (RRES) Division at 5-8057.
