Weed spraying this weekend

Weather permitting, KSL Services ground crews under the direction of Utilities and Infrastructure (FWO-UI) will spray herbicides at Technical Area 3 on Saturday.

Areas of lawns, cobble rock and gravel along Diamond Drive and Pajarito Road will be treated with "A-4-D," and an application of broadleaf weed killer "Telar."

"The early pre-emergence applications prevent serious and costly weed removal during the summer," said Ed Hoth of FWO-UI.

Persons concerned about allergies or sensitivities to these products should avoid the areas where work is being performed. This caution is in effect only until the products have dried, after which they are harmless, Hoth said.

In the event of windy conditions or rain, the work will be rescheduled. Affected areas also will have warning signs clearly posted, Hoth added.

For more information about the herbicide spraying, call Hoth at 5-6002.
