Beginning today, revised authorization forms will be available for purchasing safety glasses, protective clothing and safety/non-safety shoes through local vendor agreeements.
Form 1882, which is currently used for the safety local vendor agreeements, will now be two separate forms. Form 1882a will be used solely for for safety glasses. Form 1882b will be solely for protective clothing and safety/non-safety shoes. Individuals authorized to sign the pre-authorization form will remain the same: group leader, deputy group leader and assistant deputy group leader, said Carla Martinez of Procurement (SUP-1).
Only items listed on the form will be authorized for purchase and employees will be required to indicate the "business purpose." Forms must be fully executed prior to purchase, Martinez added. To access the new forms, go to http://enterprise.lanl.gov/procure.htm online.
For a list of authorized vendors and items, go to http://sup.lanl.gov/procurement/default.shtml online. Martinez added that any purchases made to nonauthorized vendors will result in an employee out-of-pocket expense and will not be covered under the local vendor agreements.
