Friday, April 30, 2004 Employees reminded about Laboratory policy on political activitiesAn all-employee memo from Laboratory Director G. Peter Nanos reminds Lab workers about policy pertaining to political activities. Administrative Manual Policy (AM) 709, Political Activities, remind employees that there also are University of California as well as federal regulations pertaining to political activity on government property. The memo details activities that are prohibited and allowed on Lab property. For example, campaigning is not allowed on Laboratory property or Laboratory-occupied leased space. And employees may not solicit or receive political contributions on Laboratory property or Laboratory-occupied leased space. Lab employees can have campaign bumper stickers on personal vehicles. But campaign bumper stickers are not allowed on government vehicles. For more information, read the all-employee memo or contact the Policy Office at 7-5101.
