Lab hosts business town hall meeting

Richard Marquez, associate director for administration (ADA), makes opening comments at Thursday's business town hall meeting in Sweeney Convention Center in Santa Fe. The Laboratory hosted the meeting to gather input from vendors about Los Alamos' contingent worker project, which will determine whether work at the Laboratory should be performed by UC employees or contingent workers. The meeting provided vendors with an opportunity to give input and make suggestions before the project is implemented. The Lab will keep vendors apprised of the status of their suggestions and the project.

James Hirahara, left, executive director of business and finance for laboratory operations in the University of California Office of the President, takes notes at Thursday's business town hall meeting in Santa Fe. At right is John Bretzke, acting Supply Chain Management (SUP) Division leader. For more information on the Laboratory's contingent worker project, see the March 17 Daily Newbulletin.
