Lab participates in Santa Fe Business Expo today

The Laboratory is participating in the 2004 Santa Fe Business Expo today at the Rosemarie Shellaberger Tennis Center at the College of Santa Fe. Sponsored by the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce, the expo features nearly 100 information booths staffed by Santa Fe and regional businesses.

The small business advocacy team in the Community Relations (CRO) Office is staffing the Lab's booth and will have information about Lab small business outreach programs and efforts, procurement opportunities at Los Alamos, as well as information about the Lab's Ombuds Program Office and technology transfer initiatives, said Tim Martinez of CRO. "We're pretty excited about participating in the expo," said Martinez. "The expo allows us to showcase the Lab's initiatives and efforts with regard to small business outreach and regional economic development."

Martinez added that the small business advocacy team in CRO also holds regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., every Thursday at the Chamber of Commerce's offices at the Santa Fe Premium Outlet Mall at the junction of Interstate 25 and south Cerrillos Road. The weekly sessions allow the Lab to meet with local businesses who are interested in learning about procurement opportunities at the Laboratory, he said.

The expo is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and admission is $5.
