Los Alamos NewsLetter highlights technology transferThe biweekly hard-copy newsletter for the week of April 12 is scheduled to be in mailboxes and newsstands this week. Technology transfer and working with industry has been an important component of the Laboratory for more than 20 years. The articles in this week's special issue of the newsletter include a sampling of some of the many initiatives that are taking place in the area of technology transfer at the Laboratory. Page 1 has an article on the newest patent and license award winners, while pages 3 through 7 include articles on how the Lab does technology transfer, the Hydrogen Technology Partnership, the Technology Maturation Project, the Industrial Fellow program, intellectual property, Technology Transfer (TT) Division training, regional economic development and more. Highlighted on Page 8 is TT Division employee Kathi Parker, who spends some of her time away from the Laboratory teaching Tae Kwon Do and painting with watercolors. April 22 marks the 100th birthday of the Laboratory's first director, J. Robert Oppenheimer. On Page 1, read a short biography about this remarkable man. Employees can access the Los Alamos NewsLetter at http://www.lanl.gov/worldview/news/lanl_archive.shtml online or obtain additional copies at the bright blue distribution boxes throughout the Lab. Organizations receiving too many or not enough should call the mailroom at 7-4166. If your organization's administrator is not putting the newsletter in your mailboxes, please encourage him or her to do so.
