Second quarter Laboratory line self-assessments due April 25

Laboratory Implementing Requirement (LIR) 307-01-01 requires that the Laboratory director annually establish the expectations (objectives, goals and criteria) for divisions required to complete quarterly self-assessment.

Self-assessment serves as the Laboratory's management tool for self-critical analysis of the performance in key business and operational areas to provide for organizational and personal learning, feedback for strategic planning and to assure efficiency and effectiveness in the Laboratory's management systems.

The second quarter line self-assessment expectations are available at http://ps.lanl.gov/ps_pi/selfassessments.shtml online. Institutional data also will be available on April 12.

Division leaders are encouraged to take an active role in the self-assessment process to ensure the accuracy and validity of the data in fostering improvement in the Laboratory's "find and fix" culture.

Quarterly reports for required divisions are due to associate directors by the 25th of each month following the end of the quarter. Reports should be sent electronically to assessments@lanl.gov online.
