Synthesizing materials for new products focus of Director's Colloquium

University of California, Irvine scientist Kenneth Shea talked about his research in synthesizing materials at a Director's Colloquium this week at the Laboratory. Shea discussed technical advances that have been made because of the availability of high performance materials. Shea's research interests include synthetic and mechanistic organic chemistry and polymer and materials chemistry. Shea's talk will be rebroadcast the weeks of March 8 and 15 on Labnet Channel 10. The next scheduled Director's Colloquium is April 1 when Charles Elachi of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory talks about Space Exploration in the 21st Century. More information about the Director's Colloquium program is at http://stb.lanl.gov:8080/wosaserver/web?pg=/program/colloquium/index.xml online. Photo by Ed Vigil, Public Affairs
