Los Alamos NewsLetter to be distributed this weekThe new issue of the Los Alamos NewsLetter, dated the week of March 1, is scheduled to be in mailboxes and newsstands this week. On the cover, Laboratory Fellow Nerses "Krik" Krikorian recently was honored as the recipient of the 2003 Los Alamos National Laboratory Medal. Also on Page 1 is a story on Los Alamos' collaboration with the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center to research reactor designs for a planned mission to Jupiter's icy moons. A signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Laboratory, New Mexico State University and the University of California is the subject of the "From the Top" section on Page 2. On Page 3, read about a 90-day Laboratory program to solve, as much as possible, the issues surrounding the use, protection, storage and destruction of Classified Removable Electronic Media, or CREM. Tired of the rush-hour blues? Learn what LA BUS can do for you on Page 4; and on Page 5, the Chemistry (C) Division's periodic table is being replaced with a completely revamped, souped-up, more kid-friendly version. Newsmakers, including the naming of the Agnew National Security Postdoctoral Fellows, fill pages 6 and 7; while Page 8 highlights Lab employee Pam Rodgers' work fostering dogs through a volunteer program sponsored by the Española Animal Shelter. Employees can access the Los Alamos NewsLetter at http://www.lanl.gov/worldview/news/lanl_archive.shtml online or obtain additional copies at the bright blue distribution boxes throughout the Lab. Organizations receiving too many or not enough should call the mailroom at 7-4166. If your organization's administrator is not putting the newsletter in your mailboxes, please encourage him or her to do so. Other Headlines Ashworth talk recalls Labs legacy, tie-in to future more...
