National Academies panel meets at Los Alamos

Laboratory Director G. Peter Nanos, left, talks with Paul Jennings, chairman of the National Academies of Science Study Committee on Criteria for laboratory management, Tuesday morning at Fuller Lodge in downtown Los Alamos. Nanos talked about the Laboratory's programs and process improvement efforts. The committee came to Los Alamos to gather input on how best to preserve and promote science at Los Alamos through the Request for Proposal process. |

From left to right, members of the National Academies of Science Study Committee on Criteria for laboratory management are Cherry Murray, Edward Giller, Larry Dumas, Robert Curl and David Campbell. Committee members broke into focus groups to take comments from Laboratory technical staff members, technicians, postdoctoral associates and Laboratory Fellows among others. The committee also held a public comment session Tuesday afternoon. While at Los Alamos, some of the committee members also toured Laboratory facilities.
