Updated 2/26/04 Mesa Public Library film series continues on Thursday Movies Made in and around Los Alamos The latest film in our fun, free film series at the Library will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday (March 4) in the upstairs meeting rooms. The "theater" is complete with a large screen, surround sound and of course, free popcorn for a great movie experience. The March offering, a 1985 film, is a modern western... Director/co-scripter Lawrence Kasdan's rollicking salute to the Hollywood Westerns of yesteryear stars Kevin Costner, Scott Glenn, Danny Glover and Kevin Kline as the good guys, out to free the wild town of Silverado from crooked sheriff Brian Dennehy and his cohorts. Location: Cook Ranch/Silverado Set, Eaves Movie Ranch, Ghost Ranch, Santa Ana Pueblo, Tent Rocks and White Rock Overlook. Rated PG-13. 132 minutes. Due to licensing restrictions, the title of the movie can not be used outside of the library, the rationale being that our free showings would conflict with commercial theaters, so limiting advertising is one way to address that. However, there are some very heavy clues in the film description or stop by the libraries to pick up a film series brochure which has all the details-including the titles. For more information, call Mesa Public Library at 662-8247.
