The Los Alamos Family YMCA, a Laboratory sanctioned organization, is sponsoring acting classes beginning Feb. 2. The classes will be taught by Jenny Gabrielle and Sheryl Bailey. Gabrielle will teach "Acting for middle school students" beginning Feb. 2 at Los Alamos Middle School. Bailey will teach a beginning and intermediate acting class for ages 12 through adults starting Feb. 9 also at Los Alamos Middle School. The course provides premier instruction and the most current information on using balloons for multiple applications. During the two-day course experts in the field present an extensive overview of high-altitude balloons and make available resources for further investigation as you consider the cost effective world of balloons for critical applications. Odyssey Hospice volunteers -- Enhance
the quality of care delivered to terminally ill patients and their
families, maximize program and family
resources and encourage community participation in delivery of hospice
care. Provide patient, family and caregiver support services according
to experience and training, and in compliance with company policies.
Serve the program in any needed capacity for which trained and willing
to serve, in areas such as patient care, bereavement care, administrative
support, program development and community relations and education.
Service area 50 mile radius of Santa Fe. Basic training is 12 hours,
scheduled
on evenings and weekends. Next scheduled training is from 9:30 a.m.
to 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, in Chimayo. Brown bag lunch, snacks provided.

Fair on Feb. 6 - 7 at the Pueblo Complex. The schedule is intended to
provide an opportunity for judges to examine the projects without the
exhibitors, prior to interviews and final decisions. Projects will be
setup on Friday, Feb. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. Judges will then have time to
examine the projects without the Employees volunteering for science and/or math related opportunities may be eligible for Community Service time for time taken off work. Muscle Mixes, Level I meets from 5:20 to 6:10 p.m. Monday and Wednesday in Room 121. This is a great overall workout using fitballs, sports tubing and hand weights. Multi-Level Strength Training meets from 6 to 6:45 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Updated 1/7/04 Mesa Public Library hosting Santa Fe Opera exhibit Mesa Public Library is hosting an exhibit and several gallery talks by the Santa Fe Opera of costumes, props, objects, set maquettes and design materials including working drawings, renderings and photos from six recent productions during the month of January. This will be a great opportunity for library patrons, community members and visitors to have a first hand look at what goes into making the rich, enchanting, magical illusion of a world renowned opera production. With the establishment of this toll-free line, citizens can continue to be educated about steps they can take to help firefighters protect their homes from wildfire, according to Defensible Space Project spokeswoman Susan DiMauro. As an alternative to buying via the JIT method, Hewlett-Packard computers may be purchased using purchase requests submitted to Procurement (SUP-1), Team 1 Express at MS D447. The Express buying team has identified a wide range of competitively priced, local small business HP suppliers ready to fulfill purchase requests. Shrink-wrapped software may be purchased using a purchase card or a purchase request. Updated 12/11/03 Employees leaving Lab must attend termination presentation Employees who are leaving the Laboratory or changing to casual status must attend a benefits termination presentation held by Benefits (HR-B). The termination presentations are held every Laboratory pay day for University of California Lab employees. Employees who are retiring aren't required to attend a presentation, but rather, they should schedule a meeting with their designated benefits specialist. The presentations begin at 8:30 a.m. in room P280 on the second floor of the Otowi Building at Technical Area 3. Pre-registration is required. Employees should register on line at http://hrcluster.lanl.gov/TIOCourses/TIOAha.asp?CourseNumber=21013 one to two weeks prior to their last scheduled work day to sign up for a benefits termination presentation. Employees also must obtain a departure processing form from Staffing (HR-S) before the presentation. This form is available at http://www.hr.lanl.gov/hrstaffing/Terminations/index.stm online. At the presentation, employees will receive a packet of information about their benefits and savings balances. They will learn about options to continue or convert insurance plans and distribution options for savings funds.
