Tell Pete talks about 10-year anniversary, vacation time issue

The newest issues briefing on the "Tell Pete" Web page is now online.

This issues briefing raised through the "Tell Pete" electronic mail venue is on 10-year service anniversary and vacation time.

"In the early 1990s the Department of Energy and the University of California entered into negotiations about the amount of vacation leave granted to Laboratory employees," said Larry Hanson of Staffing (HR-S). "DOE urged the university and Laboratory to bring [the Laboratory's] vacation accruals more closely in line with other UC locations and industry. The result was a change in Appendix A of the Prime Contract, which details the allowable personnel costs and related expenses under the contract."

The briefing goes on to explain the vacation grant process and who is eligible to receive the vacation grant and other information on the issue.

The Tell Pete issues briefing on the 10-year service anniversary and vacation time can be found at http://int.lanl.gov/communications/tp_issues12-11.shtml online.

"Tell Pete" began in late February as an anonymous way to submit suggestions and identify concerns of Laboratory employees as well as help Nanos gain awareness of employee issues. More information about how "Tell Pete" works can be found at http://int.lanl.gov/communications/tell_pete.shtml online.
