Safe shopping tips

• If shopping with a child who is not in a stroller, try to hold the child by the hand. In any case, don't let the child out of sight.
• Never leave the child in a toy, television or other department while running errands elsewhere in a store.
• Teach the child that if they become separated from you, not to look for you but to go to the nearest checkout counter. The child should only ask for assistance after asking if the clerk actually works there.
• Teach your child to say "No!" and step away if an unknown person asks them to go with him/her.
• Instruct the child to never go to the parking lot in search of you.
