Seventeen win prizes in United Way raffle

Seventeen Laboratory employees won prizes ranging from airplane tickets to Santa Fe Symphony performances to ice cream cones at last week's Laboratory 2004 United Way end-of-campaign raffle. All of the prize winners have been notified by the Community Relations (CRO) Office, which coordinated the raffle.

More than $720,000 has been raised in the Lab's 2004 United Way giving campaign and 36 percent of eligible employees have participated in the campaign, either through pledges and donations or through the Fair Share program.

Laboratory workers and the raffle prize they received are as follows:

  • Louella Lopez, Procurement (SUP-1), two Baskin Robbins Los Alamos certificates
  • Brenda Dingus, Neutron Science and Technology (P-23), two Baskin Robbins Los Alamos certificates
  • James Freyer, Bioscience (B) Division, two Baskin Robbins Los Alamos certificates
  • Florence Serna, SUP-1, two Baskin Robbins Los Alamos certificates
  • John Gomez, Subatomic Physics (P-25), two Baskin Robbins Los Alamos certificates
  • Deborah Woitte, Laboratory Counsel (LC), American Indian Kachina doll
  • Marie Kaye, Director's Office, American Indian Kachina doll
  • Charles Duy, Solid Waste Operations (FWO-SWO), Pat Oliphant painting
  • Regina Fuchs, Health Physics Operations (HSR-1), parking placard for one year at Lab
  • Donna Smith, Pit Disposition Science and Technology (NMT-15), parking placard for one year at Lab

  • Paul Gilna, B Division, pair of tickets for Santa Fe Symphony performance Jan. 25, 2004
  • Susan Barns, B Division, pair of tickets for Santa Fe Symphony performance, Dec. 21
  • Nileen Velappan, B Division, certificate for one airfare anywhere in the U.S.
  • Brian Mark, B Division, certificate for one airfare anywhere in U.S.

United Way of Santa Fe County's Priorities Fund ensures that donations are used locally in the areas of helping children succeed, improve health and healing, increase self-sufficiency and unify the community.
