Storm drops first snowfall of season on Los Alamos

A powerful Pacific storm roared through New Mexico Wednesday night and early Thursday dropping the season's first snow on Los Alamos, but the ducks at Ashley Pond didn't seem any worse for wear despite temperatures in the upper 20s and snow all around.

Miles Baron of Primary Design and Assessment (X-4) didn't let cold and snow get in the way of his lunchtime run through Omega Canyon on Thursday. The storm is expected to depart the area today with sunny and warmer temperatures forecast this weekend. Photos by LeRoy N. Sanchez, Public Affairs
