Monday, November 3, 2003 Breakthrough science workshop set for Nov. 13Research has shown that breakthroughs in scientific teams are rare. On Nov. 13, a day-long workshop at the Canyon School Complex will examine this phenomenon and give Laboratory technical staff members insight into methods for improving chances for achieving scientific breakthroughs. Technical staff members have until 5 p.m., Nov. 11 to sign up for the Breakthrough Science workshop, which is being held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Room 167 of the Canyon School Complex. Training and Development (HR-TD) and the Science and Technology Base (STB) Programs Office are co-sponsoring the workshop. The class is limited to 20 technical staff members and pre-registration is required. The workshop addresses understanding the essential collaborative breakthrough processes for creating new value and innovative spontaneity in the research process.
